Have you ever felt it…

the difference between your body and your soul?

This strange feeling like there’s a whole world inside of you, separate from your body?

Think of it as our bodies being a mask that we peer from behind our eyes that observes everything including who we believe ourselves to be.

The quality of our lives is affected by this knowledge that our body and our soul are separate because each one requires the other.

Our body is the vehicle with which we experience our lives. It carries all the pressures and obligations of this world

While the soul takes what our body experiences and decides what to take with us or leave behind.

Pure Focus Is Like a Salve

I wonder sometimes when I watch the Warriors Steph Curry on the sidelines with that faraway look on his face. Is his soul reminding him that no matter what physical experience he may be having, the outcome is of no consequence? And that he is only there to experience the experience?

I started doing that recently. Letting all thoughts pause for a moment and just focus on an inanimate object. It’s easy to do when at home. When in public, make sure not to stare at anyone, Lol, it’s creepy.

I realized that it’s like the Lamaze technique which most pregnant women learn. Lamaze is when you focus on an object so intently that you are able to leave your body for a moment. Helping you get through the physical pain of contractions.

Physical or emotional pain, no matter, that moment of pure focus is like a salve for any stress or hurt. It helps you to hang on and get through whatever it is you are dealing with in your life. At least for that point in time.

Life is a series of moments. There will be many more opportunities to practice finding strength.

Out of Body Experience

It feels amazing because I have a hard time keeping my eyes closed when attempting to meditate. When I do close my eyes it’s as if I am giving my mind permission to think of everything it could possibly think of, Lol.

It feels like your existence is being renewed. An out of body experience giving your nervous system and mind a quick break.

A little different than traditional meditation which feels like I’m only focusing inward. Or mindfulness, which feels like an awareness of everything outside of myself.

Whereas this technique, I’ll call it, feels like separating the two so that they can both rest because you’re observing without thinking and being aware without doing.

Take care of your soul by honoring your body. Your soul will take everything that your body has experienced with it when it leaves.

Take care of your body. It is the house where your soul will reside during your stay.

“You don’t have a soul. You are a Soul. You have a body.”
